[INDEX] | [PLOT] | [CANONS] | | [TRAILER]
Alice Liddell died in the early 1900s in a mental Asylum in London.
Her ravings about Wonderland had branded her a lunatic, and whilst her body languished in its new prison; the creatures of Wonderland pondered her disappearance- though it's rumoured the Cheshire Cat would visit her as she aged. In the year of 1934 her heart gave out, for she was an old woman then, and her body placed in a shallow grave in the gardens of Bethlem Royal Hospital.
It's a notable event for most Wonderlanders, for it was then that the Cheshire Cat began to show a darker nature.
It was a hundred years before they'd had enough, before someone decided to take action. It was the White Rabbit who first had the idea, that he could yet again go to the world above and lure down a new Alice, to restore the glory of Wonderland; it had been fading since the death of Ms. Liddell. It was met initially with disdain; for what plain mortal could hope to replace their dear Alice? Thus the initial plans were drawn up in secret, with the Rabbit enlisting the help of the devious Cheshire cat; known for being a duplicitous creature (though of course, so faithful to the Queen of hearts). The first few attempts were a failure, the youth of today too careless, too fickle to adhere to the old ways and the residents of Wonderland found themselves changing dramatically. It was, perhaps, when the Queen of Hearts found her husband now towered above her, that the monarchy decided to get involved.
Thus the plans were laid, the entirety of Wonderland learning to use the fabled looking glass, and the rabbit hole- to move back and forth between Wonderland and London at their leisure (though not many stayed in London, not knowing how it might affect their immortality). The Asylum where their dear Alice had lived and died was taken over, and made their London base. It was set up to be a school, to re-educate their successful Alice's into thinking their way. Of course, first the Potential Alice's must pass a test, before being permitted into the Academy.
The White Rabbit was given the task of collecting these potential Alice's and to put them through three tests; a test of creativity with the innovative Dodo, a test of courage with the terrifying Jabberwocky, and a test of wit with the mysterious Cheshire Cat. If they completed these tests they would be sent to the academy, if not- well... there was always the Cheshire Cat's black market for tickets into Wonderland... though you had to wonder if the price was worth it. There was another way of course, to become one of the Queen's cards- moving up through the 'suits' to the coveted hearts, the last stepping stone before you were permitted to cross back and forth through Wonderland and Earth.
Do you have what it takes to become the new Alice?
